PET is not automatically the right material for every flower sleeve. PET offers high clarity, a smooth printable surface and greater stiffness than many soft packaging films. These characteristics make it particularly useful when a bouquet bag needs a clear structured body, stable shape, crisp folds or a premium display panel.
Very flexible disposable flower sleeves are frequently produced from thin BOPP, CPP or PE-based film. If the target product is a soft sleeve rather than a semi-rigid bag, compare flexibility, sealing, tear behavior and cost before selecting PET. A physical sample and bag-making trial are more reliable than selecting by material name alone.
Standard PET should not automatically be described as heat-sealable or anti-fog. Direct heat sealing may require a heat-sealable PET grade, compatible coating, adhesive assembly or laminated sealant layer. Refrigerated flowers may require a dedicated anti-fog surface. Wallis can review the finished structure with your converter.
Clear packaging should display flower color, texture and arrangement without a cloudy appearance. Buyers can define transparency, haze, gloss, color and allowable visual defects for the finished thickness. Printed inks, coatings and multiple overlapping layers may change the final appearance and should be included in sample evaluation.
Material thickness and stiffness influence whether the package forms a soft wrap, an upright bag or a rigid display component. Thicker PET provides more structure but requires suitable scoring, folding and assembly methods. Test fold lines, corner recovery and possible stress whitening on the final design.
PET does not soften like ordinary paper after light contact with moisture, but condensation can still reduce visibility inside fresh-flower packaging. For refrigerated display or cold-chain transport, evaluate ventilation holes, package geometry and an optional anti-fog treatment under the expected temperature and humidity cycle.
Logos, floral patterns, seasonal artwork and handling information can be printed on a compatible PET surface. Corona treatment, primer, ink system and curing conditions must match the printing process. Confirm ink adhesion, color density, rub resistance and folding performance through a production trial.
Bouquet bags may be assembled by folding, locking tabs, adhesive bonding, ultrasonic processing, sewing or heat sealing, depending on the material construction. Standard PET is not necessarily heat-sealable, so buyers should specify their equipment, sealing temperature, line speed and target seal strength before ordering.
Semi-rigid PET can form the transparent body of an upright bouquet bag with handles, locking tabs or bonded seams. Its clarity displays the arrangement, while the selected thickness helps the bag retain shape in florist shops, gift stores and premium delivery packaging.
Suitable PET film grades can be converted into clear or printed sleeves for single stems, small bouquets and decorative arrangements. For soft high-speed sleeves, compare PET with BOPP or CPP and verify roll handling, coefficient of friction, sealing and puncture resistance on the intended equipment.
Die-cut PET sheet can be used as a clear viewing window, protective insert, collar or structural component in paper flower boxes. Adhesive compatibility and folding direction should be checked with the box board and converting process.
Transparent or custom-printed PET can support branded packaging for weddings, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Christmas and corporate gifts. Artwork, ink coverage, metallic decoration and finishing processes should be confirmed early because they may affect folding, recycling and production cost.

The word “cellophane” is often used informally for clear flower wrap, although many commercial products are actually BOPP or another plastic film. Define the polymer, thickness and functional structure in purchase documents instead of relying on the general term “cello.”
PET can be supplied in rolls for downstream converting or in flat sheets for die-cut and folded components. Provide the required width, length, core size, maximum roll diameter, winding direction and splice limits so the material can be matched to your production line.
Converted components may include handles, ventilation holes, locking tabs, rounded corners and decorative shapes. Part dimensions, fold direction, crease geometry and tolerances should be defined on a drawing and approved with a physical prototype.
When custom printing is required, specify the printing method, ink system, color standard, artwork coverage and post-print process. Surface energy can change during storage, so treatment level and ink adhesion should be checked close to the converting date.
Transparent floral packaging is sensitive to scratches, gels, black spots, color variation and uneven surfaces. Project inspection criteria may include thickness tolerance, width and length, appearance, haze, gloss, color, surface energy, tensile properties and dimensional stability.
Performance testing should reflect the finished package. Depending on the design, this may include ink adhesion, crease and fold testing, seal or bond strength, handle loading, drop testing, puncture resistance, condensation exposure and refrigerated storage simulation.
Approve a production-representative sample with the actual printing, adhesive, coating and assembly method whenever possible. The accepted sample, drawing and test method should become the reference for mass-production inspection.

No single material is best for every sleeve. PET is useful when clarity, dimensional stability or added structure is required. Very soft, thin sleeves may be better matched to BOPP, CPP or PE-based film, depending on sealing and equipment requirements.
Thickness depends on whether the package is a flexible wrap, semi-rigid bag, window or structural insert. Wallis lists 0.15-3.0 mm as the available product range, but the final choice should be approved through forming, folding and handling tests.
Standard PET is not automatically suitable for direct heat sealing. A heat-sealable PET grade, coating, adhesive or laminated sealant layer may be required. Provide your sealing equipment, temperature, dwell time and target seal strength for review.
Yes, compatible PET surfaces can be printed with logos, patterns and seasonal artwork. The ink, surface treatment, curing process and post-print folding should be tested together to confirm adhesion and appearance.
Anti-fog is a separate functional requirement and is not guaranteed for standard clear PET. Request an appropriate treated grade and validate it under the expected refrigeration, humidity and temperature-change cycle.

A sufficiently durable bag may be reused if it remains clean, undamaged and suitable for the intended purpose. Reuse should not be claimed without considering hygiene, printing durability, handle strength and the actual package design.
