Wallis PVC offset printing sheet is a rigid printable PVC card substrate developed for commercial offset printing, UV offset printing and screen-printing workflows. It is supplied to card manufacturers, security printers, smart card integrators, converters and material distributors producing bank cards, SIM cards, ID cards, access cards, loyalty cards, gift cards and other laminated plastic cards.
The matte surface is engineered to support stable ink transfer, fine image reproduction and reliable adhesion during printing and subsequent lamination. Adequate surface energy helps the selected ink wet the substrate consistently. Actual adhesion depends on the ink chemistry, press settings, curing conditions, storage history and surface cleanliness, so print and cross-hatch adhesion tests should be completed before bulk production.
Controlled matte roughness supports sheet handling and ink transfer while maintaining fine text, lines and color areas. The required Ra and Rz range should be matched to the press, ink film weight and visual standard of the finished card.
Different card constructions may require different thermal behavior. The Vicat grade must be selected together with the transparent overlay, adhesive system, chip or inlay construction, lamination temperature, pressure and dwell time.
