Wallis 33mm super thin SEG LED fabric light box is a slim illuminated advertising display designed for retail stores, shopping malls, exhibitions, showrooms, airports, restaurants, corporate interiors, branded walls and other indoor commercial display projects.
Model AF18 combines an aluminum profile, silicone edge graphic (SEG) fabric system and either a PMMA acrylic light guide panel or direct LED backlighting, depending on display size, required brightness and light-box depth.
The standard AF18 LGP configuration has a nominal 33mm profile depth. Current options include DC12V / DC24V, 3000K / 4000K / 6500K, silver / black / customized frame colors, single- or double-sided displays, wall-mounted, hanging and freestanding installation.
The SEG graphic uses a silicone strip sewn around the perimeter of the printed fabric. The silicone edge is inserted into the aluminum channel to tension the graphic across the front of the light box, producing a clean, nearly frameless display surface while allowing graphics to be removed and replaced when campaigns change.
For B2B projects, buyers should define the outer frame size, visible graphic size, finished SEG fabric size, profile depth, display side, LED architecture, brightness target, uniformity requirement, color temperature, CRI, power, installation type, graphic specification, certification requirements and quantity before quotation.

Engineering data still recommended: the current product page does not publish one fixed luminance, illuminance, lighting uniformity, CRI, watts per light box, LED chip specification, LED pitch, driver model, dimming protocol, IP rating or formal warranty for every AF18 configuration. These values should be confirmed according to the final size and lighting architecture.
A flexible silicone strip is sewn around the perimeter of the printed fabric graphic. The silicone dimensions and sewing position must match the selected aluminum extrusion.
The silicone edge is pressed into the narrow channel around the aluminum profile. Proper fabric size and silicone-edge dimensions create tension across the graphic face.
Correctly sized SEG graphics help reduce wrinkles and visible front fasteners, creating a clean illuminated surface suitable for premium retail and commercial environments.
When campaign artwork changes, users can remove the existing fabric and install a replacement graphic while retaining the aluminum frame and LED system.
Wallis currently offers two lighting approaches for this product family. The correct choice depends on light-box dimensions, profile depth, brightness target, graphic material and desired uniformity.
In an edge-lit configuration, LEDs inject light into the edge of a PMMA light guide panel. A processed optical pattern extracts and distributes the light across the display surface.
The current Wallis page recommends the LGP approach particularly for super-thin structures below approximately 40mm depth and displays below approximately 2000mm. This is a current product guideline rather than a universal engineering limit; final suitability should be confirmed according to aspect ratio and brightness requirements.

In a direct-backlit system, LED modules are positioned behind the fabric graphic and distribute light toward the display face without using a full PMMA light guide plate.
Wallis currently recommends LED backlit modules for larger fabric light boxes where greater display dimensions or project-specific brightness and uniformity make direct illumination more appropriate.

Edge lighting combined with a PMMA LGP is useful when installation depth must remain shallow and the panel dimensions remain suitable for the required optical uniformity.
Large displays can require more direct light distribution. A direct-backlit LED layout can be designed according to the depth behind the graphic, LED beam angle and target brightness.
Two light boxes of the same size can consume different power depending on LED architecture, brightness target, LED efficiency and driver selection. Request total watts for the final configuration.
When even illumination is contractually important, define a measurable uniformity target and test the complete system with the intended backlit fabric.
Wallis currently publishes B1, B2 and A0–A4 reference dimensions for the AF18 LGP light box. The table distinguishes between frame size, visible area and finished fabric size, which is important when customers print replacement SEG graphics locally.
| Model | Lighting | Format | Frame Size (mm) | View Size (mm) | Thickness | Fabric Size (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AF18 | LGP Light Panel | B1 | 1025 × 767 | 1025 × 767 | 33mm | 1035 × 777 |
| AF18 | LGP Light Panel | B2 | 732 × 560 | 732 × 560 | 33mm | 742 × 570 |
| AF18 | LGP Light Panel | A0 | 1214 × 901 | 1214 × 901 | 33mm | 1224 × 911 |
| AF18 | LGP Light Panel | A1 | 866 × 654 | 866 × 654 | 33mm | 876 × 664 |
| AF18 | LGP Light Panel | A2 | 619 × 480 | 619 × 480 | 33mm | 629 × 490 |
| AF18 | LGP Light Panel | A3 | 445 × 357 | 445 × 357 | 33mm | 455 × 367 |
| AF18 | LGP Light Panel | A4 | 322 × 270 | 322 × 270 | 33mm | 332 × 280 |
In the current reference table, the SEG fabric is approximately 10mm larger in both width and height than the listed frame/view dimensions. Buyers printing locally should not generalize this allowance to every customized profile. Always request the production drawing and silicone-edge specification for the exact frame.
A 33mm profile allows illuminated graphics to sit relatively close to the wall, making AF18 suitable for retail spaces where available depth is limited.
The silicone-edge fabric conceals much of the front aluminum structure, helping the illuminated artwork become the dominant visual element.
B1, B2 and A0–A4 reference dimensions simplify projects using familiar advertising and signage formats.
Custom frame dimensions can be reviewed according to aluminum extrusion length, LGP feasibility, LED layout, shipping requirements and installation conditions.
Warm-white lighting can be considered for hospitality, luxury retail and interior environments that use warmer ambient lighting.
Neutral-white lighting can provide a balanced appearance for showrooms, commercial interiors and general retail display applications.
Cool-white 6500K is useful where buyers want a crisp, bright visual appearance for illuminated advertising graphics.
Color temperature does not indicate color-rendering quality. The current product page does not publish a CRI value, so fashion, cosmetics, food and other color-sensitive projects should specify the required CRI separately.
The AF18 product specification currently supports DC12V and DC24V. The final voltage should be selected together with the LED layout, panel size, total wattage, power-supply location and cable length.
Power consumption is not currently published as one fixed value because it changes with size and LED configuration. Buyers should request total watts per finished light box.
Driver input voltage, output voltage, rated power, installation location and applicable certification should be confirmed for the destination market.
The current Wallis page does not publish a standard dimming protocol. Projects requiring 0–10V, DALI, PWM or another control method should specify it before production.
Single-sided configurations are suitable for wall mounting and other installations where the display is viewed primarily from one direction.
Double-sided configurations can be considered for hanging or freestanding displays viewed from both directions. The required profile and lighting architecture should be confirmed because a double-sided system may differ mechanically from the standard 33mm single-sided LGP configuration.
Wall mounting is suitable for retail graphics, menu boards, showroom branding and permanent commercial advertising installations.
Suspended installations can be used where graphics must remain visible above eye level or from multiple circulation paths. Suspension points and total assembled weight should be confirmed during structural design.
Freestanding displays require suitable feet, base structures or stabilizing supports. Larger units should be engineered according to height, width, center of gravity and the installation environment.
Replaceable SEG graphics are useful for seasonal promotions, new product launches, window displays, shop walls and visual merchandising.
Slim illuminated fabric boxes can be integrated into corridors, store entrances, brand walls and tenant advertising areas.
Custom SEG displays can be incorporated into exhibition booth walls, promotional backdrops and illuminated product areas.
Illuminated fabric graphics can be used for menu imagery, restaurant branding and promotional messages where frequent artwork updates are required.
Automotive, furniture, electronics, cosmetics and other showrooms can integrate edge-lit or backlit fabric graphics into architectural display systems.
LED backlighting systems can also be incorporated into stretch-fabric ceilings and large illuminated interior surfaces when the profile depth, LED spacing and diffuser or fabric characteristics are designed for the application.

Do not assume that fabric dimensions equal the visible size or outer frame size. Request the finished SEG graphic dimensions for the exact aluminum profile.
Silicone width, thickness, hardness and sewing position influence how securely the graphic fits into the extrusion. These values are not currently published for AF18 and should be confirmed when graphics are produced locally.
Fabric stretch characteristics influence final tension. The printer and frame supplier should use the same finished-size specification.
Light transmission, diffusion, print density and white-point characteristics affect the illuminated result. Buyers should test the intended printed material with the actual LED system.
Shopping malls, airports, exhibitions and public interiors may require specific flame-performance documentation for fabric graphics. Provide the required standard before selecting the graphic material.
For advertising displays, measured luminance expressed in cd/m² provides a more useful purchasing specification than the phrase “high brightness.” The current page does not publish one fixed luminance value because configurations vary.
Uniformity determines whether the fabric appears evenly illuminated across corners, center and edges. Define the required percentage and test method where uniformity is important.
CRI becomes especially important for cosmetics, fashion, food, art and premium retail graphics where accurate color rendering is important.
A heavily printed dark graphic can transmit less light than a pale graphic. Brightness evaluation should therefore use representative production fabric whenever possible.

Check profile dimensions, corner joints, frame squareness, surface finish and visible scratches before assembly.
For edge-lit versions, inspect PMMA light guide dimensions, optical pattern, edge finish, surface scratches and contamination.
Verify LED operation, voltage, wiring, connectors and the selected color temperature before final packaging.
Check the complete illuminated area for dark corners, bright edges, LED spotting and other visible inconsistencies.
Install the production-equivalent fabric to verify graphic dimensions, silicone-edge fit, surface tension and corner appearance.
Buyers requiring a defined burn-in test should specify the required duration and acceptance criteria because the current product page does not publish a standard burn-in protocol.
For repeat retail or exhibition programs, retain an approved sample together with the frame drawing, fabric size, LED specification, CCT, power and packaging configuration.
The AF18 product is primarily positioned for indoor use. The current page does not publish an outdoor IP rating for the complete light box.
Outdoor displays require appropriate weather protection for the aluminum assembly, LEDs, wiring, connectors, driver and graphic. A separate outdoor structure should be technically confirmed rather than using the indoor AF18 specification unchanged.
High-humidity, refrigerated, high-temperature or other special indoor environments should also be identified during project specification.
One practical advantage of SEG displays is that the aluminum frame and lighting system can remain installed while the printed fabric is replaced when advertising campaigns change.
Replacing only the graphic can reduce the need to discard the complete illuminated frame during routine campaign updates.
Aluminum and PMMA can enter recycling streams under appropriate conditions, but actual recovery depends on material separation, contamination and local recycling infrastructure.
The original page refers to reduced carbon emissions. Without an energy baseline or lifecycle assessment, it is more accurate to state that efficient LEDs and reusable graphic systems can support energy- and material-efficiency goals.
Wallis can review customized outside dimensions, visible graphic dimensions and fabric dimensions according to the project drawing.
Silver and black are currently listed, while other finishes can be discussed according to project quantity and production feasibility.
LGP edge lighting or direct LED backlighting can be selected according to display dimensions, depth, brightness target and uniformity requirements.
Customers that print SEG fabric locally should request the exact finished graphic size and silicone-edge specification before production.
Packaging can be developed according to frame size, assembled or knock-down format, LGP protection, LEDs, power supplies and export transportation requirements.
Light-guide panels, LED components and aluminum profiles require suitable export protection to reduce scratching, bending and impact damage during international transportation.
